Once per working day, around 16:00 CET. No changes on weekends or ECB holidays.
Which currencies are supported?
The 30 currencies the ECB publishes daily — euro, US dollar, British pound, yen, Swiss franc, Turkish lira and more.
Exchange money before I travel, or there?
Neither. Pay by card in local currency and withdraw from a bank ATM on arrival.
Why did my bank charge me a different amount?
It applied its own rate and fees. The gap is what the conversion cost you.
Where do I get the worst rate?
Airport exchange desks and hotel receptions. Expect 5–12% below the mid-market rate, sometimes with a fee on top.
